The idea of sharing overland adventures has finally become reality. Overland calling is finally real and out there for the world. Content is minimal for now, but will grow rapidly now that the first leap has happened. Wow it is a lot harder than we thought to actually hit that publish button and it is a lot more work than we thought to get things up and running. If we actually had some experience with how to build a web site, experience with YouTube, or knowledge of how to edit videos things probably would have gone quicker. Starting to get the hang of things now though. Me and my daughter have gotten to spend plenty of quality time together figuring things out. Not just for the overland trips, but also for the whole business part of things. This is still just the tip of the iceberg though and things will get over better with time and experience. Finally released two videos and there will be many more to come. Right now editing is a bit slow as we figure things out, but before long I am sure they will be rolling out a lot quicker. Sooooo what the heck is up with the name you ask?
"Overland" is the vehicle based off-road exploration. "Calling" refers to being drawn to it as a way of life. Most people wait till retirement to start traveling around for long periods, but adventure just could not wait for retirement in my case. I set things up to be able to have good internet and a usable work space while off the grid. This allows me to be able to get out and explore while still being able to keep a 9-5 job. The best of both worlds with plenty of adventure and the stability needed to support a family. Please check out the introduction video on the overland calling YouTube page!
